FileMaker Pro Gurus is Back – We Celebrated by Skiing!

Hosting horror story – but all is OK now (clear your cache).

To make a long story short, we had to upgrade our Virtual Private Server (VPS) to switch from a deprecated OS (CentOS) and the process did not go well. Despite paving the way with multiple conversations and emails with the BlueHost, the process failed miserably, and pointed out the lack of a proper escalation process at BlueHost – a process they are now working to implement.

Our server, with 39 websites on it, was down for 52 hours. Not a lot of fun, but the new OS should be more stable than the last. So far, it is working flawlessly.

I took my own advice – digitally detox from time to time.

Back in December, I quoted a source that claimed it was necessary to digitally detox for a day every so often. I mostly did that this past Tuesday when I skied with my daughter and three granddaughters. The picture above was taken at the top of the quad lift at the Santa Fe Ski Area, located about half way up the mountain. It was the first day my two oldest granddaughters had skied something other than the bunny slope, and they loved it. Especially Adventure Land, saw a bear cave, and skied through a tunnel and the trees!

My youngest granddaughter is missing from the photo – she was still in her class at the Chipmunk Corner ski school. But her time is coming, and soon.

It snowed the whole time we were there, the temperature never got above 20 degrees, but it was a magical day!

There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.
