Business Minute #10
This week (and part of next) we are delving into the details of systematizing a business. Step #4 of the nine steps: SMART Goals
There are three kinds of goals:
1. Negative Goals – These are the weakest of goals, because
2. Positive Goals – These are the most powerful types of goals, because they focus our attention on what we want to accomplish and help challenge us to be our best. Goals must be written down, and preferably have pictures of them, as well.
3. Outside Goals – These are large goals that exist to help other people and institutions – helping poor people, helping cancer victims, doing more for your community, etc.
Written, documented goals help you focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. Having written goals drives you to succeed – 3% of the people write down their goals and they control 90% plus of the world’s wealth. Powerful stuff.
One last thing about goals: Make use of the Reticular Activating System to help you achieve your goals.
In the next Business Minute we will be covering the Organization Chart.
