NEW FEATURE: I’m adding a short audio podcast on why I think this topic is important. Listen in–and let me know what you think about this idea.
Managing your time, in both your life and in your job, is critical for achieving your short and long term goals.
The advice offered in the video is valuable, and is the topic of a several books on the subject: Take care of the most important items first, then the next most important, and so on until you get to the least important items on your list.
Approach your development in the same way, and you’ll increase your speed to solution. Why? Because you will have spent time identifying and rating the stages of development, then doing them in the proper sequence.
From the youtube description:
It’s easy to lose focus on the important things in your life and to fill the precious time you do have with things that don’t mean a damn thing. Prioritizing your time is critical to having a “full” life.
If you start with all the small and trivial things… you’ll have no time for the things that really matter. BUT, if you give time to the things that are important first – not only do you have time for them, but you’ll find you have time for a whole lot more.
This video analogy depicts this philosophy wonderfully.
