FileMaker Developer Interviews -William Miller, Gordon Cox, and Jimmy Cox
FileMaker Developer Interviews – DevCon 2016
Time to fess up: Somehow I managed to double book two interviews: William Miller – he booked in advance before the convention, and Gordon and Jimmy Cox for the same slot, whom I invited after meeting them in a meet and greet after an FBA meeting.
It all worked out well, however, as William graciously agreed to a roundtable interview with Gordon and Jimmy!
And, as you’ll see, it led to some interesting conversations.
Dr. William Miller, HighPower Data Solutions
Dr. William Miller, of HighPower Data Solutions, is based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Area, and enjoys working with companies that are still primarily paper or spreadsheet based. He also is the author of “Easy Apps: How to Make Money Selling Applications Made with FileMaker Pro”. Given FileMaker’s recent focus on selling Apps, Miller was well ahead of the times when he published the book a couple of years ago.
Miller started in FileMaker when he wrote a database to meet his needs as a Pastor for his church, which he then sold to other churches to help them.
Gordon and Jimmy Cox, Enrich Computer Systems
Gordon and Jimmy hail from the western shores of Perth, Australia, a mere 28 hours travel time from Las Vegas.
Gordon, and his son, Jimmy, focus on general FileMaker solutions for clients in western Australia. Gordon started in FileMaker in a (successful) attempt to get sales quotes under control at an Apple store where he was the financial controller.
What you’ll learn in this video
In this video, you’ll learn about their favorite FileMaker and business tools, their business challenges, their opinion of FileMaker’s path forward, and much more.
A handy timeline guide to the conversation is located below the video.
